Someone said - “Minds are like
parachutes. They only function when open” - but if you've never seen a
parachute, use an umbrella in its place and tell me, whilst folded around its
metal frame, do you think an umbrella can provide the canopy that it is
designed for?
Same way, progressive is the person who takes all things into consideration; one who wakes
up, smells the coffee and opens the mind to appreciate new ideas; one
who believes that there will always be a better way, a healthier opinion or
idea out there; one who is human enough to know that anyone can be in the wrong
and is willing to listen.
On the contrary, regressive are those who cannot accept the fact that if growth should
remain an option, a lot of limitations will inevitably be broken, and that the
scope of innovation and tolerance must unfurl. These are people who do not
overstand that no individual notion can be held by everyone and at all times.
P.S - WHEN I SAY OPEN YOUR MINDS,
I AM NOT SAYING OPEN IT TO THE POINT OF POURING THE BRAINS OUT TO NO PURPOSE.
YOU NEED TO BE REASONABLE. THE MIND IS BEYOND PRICE, YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO WASTE
