Hypocrite

If you condemn others for not keeping it real, but at the same time your own life is NOT based on a true story, you’re a hypocrite - If you preach the ideals of tolerance, when you’re as fanatical as ‪ as Boko Haram’s ‎Abubakar Shekau, expecting humankind to live up to your standards, but you don’t feel obliged to reciprocate, you’re a hypocrite - If your resolve to hate or like someone or something is dependent on someone else's decision, mostly someone you idolise, you’re a hypocrite.

You’re talking to Fatou and pretending to hate Amie, because you think Amie talks about others behind their backs, and without thinking you start asking if Fatou saw the bitchy dress that Yassin wore to the Gala Dinner, you’re a hypocrite - If you’re hardened to telling people what they want to hear, irrespective of your contrary personal position or its effect on others, you’re a hypocrite.

If you’re so selfish that you cannot see beyond personal interest; if you can fake friendship with a person who fills you with disgust and anger, you’re a hypocrite – if you can say nice things about horrible people just to be in their good books, you’re a hypocrite - If you can lie to others about others in order to belong to their class or just to make yourself look good, you’re a hypocrite.

If you used to swear to high heavens that when you become a major player, you’ll never be like the other bigwigs, but you became one of them, only to start doing the same or even the pits of things that you said you’ll never do, you’re a hypocrite.

If on account of your religious belief, you claim to be against sorcery, when in actual fact, your whole existence is at the mercy of sorcery, you’re a hypocrite - If a friend is in trouble and you put on a sadness that you do not feel, like being in tears in her presence, showing fake emotions, only to get to know the details, so that as soon as you leave her sight, you can go and talk shit about her, you’re a hypocrite.

If you’re an embodiment of all of the above, and you still don't admit that you're a hypocrite, you're still a hypocrite, and even if your hypocrisy is believed to be divinely sanctioned like that of the ‪Boko Haram, you’re still a  hypocrite – and if you're living in America, USA precisely, or just anywhere, and you still believe there’s concern for justice, peace, and genuine respect for Black People, you’re not unlike a hypocrite.
