Whether you’re someone who finds
out about the failings of others to venomously discuss or gossip about them, or
whether it is your occupation to bring out disgraceful stories about the
personal lives of others, be aware of the fact that what you’re doing is indeed
just as or perhaps more sinning than that which you’re revealing.
I saw in the Noble Book that:
“Those who love (to see) scandal published (and) broadcast among the Believers
will have a grievous Penalty in this life and in the Hereafter: Allah knows and
ye know not”. (Quran, AL-NOOR (THE LIGHT))
[I swear to God] If it is not for
the case of the pot calling the kettle black, I am sure not very many people
can put themselves forward that they've never mirrored themselves in most of
the things they take a dim view of.
IMO, it doesn’t matter how good,
religious, clean or tidy we think or people think we are; whether under God's
cover or the darkness of night, we have all committed some sin in one way or
another, by deed or by mouth, by trunks or trousers; we all have our crooked
paths…May Allah increase our ability to keep the secrets of others, just as how
some of us have managed to keep our filthiest closets, and may He forgive all
our sins.
