Talking nonsense about someone
you call a friend is evilness, but it is even more evil when you find it okay
to laugh about a certain adversity of that friend. I believe when a threat is
at hand, true friends should put one another on alert, rather than one sitting
and waiting for the unfortunate to fall upon the other. It’s only fake ones
that do that, and then they’ll come with their stale guidance and two-faced
display of emotions.
Some will even pray for you, like
asking God to give you a speedy way out. Don’t even
say ‘Amen’, God listens to hearts not words. The next thing they’ll do after
leaving your sight is to fabricate rubbish in their small minds and get down to
spewing it with their big mouths, making a mountain out of every molehill they
know about you.
There’s this Eskimo proverb that
“you never really know your friends from your enemies until the ice breaks”.
That’s today’s sense of fraternity for you. It is such that until your
position, reputation or influence ceases to exist, until the good times become
obsolete, you’ll never really be able to make a distinction between a mutually
beneficial friendship and one in which the other is just there for unearned favours.
Ours is full of servile but
cunning sycophants and toadying parasites, and they are artfully relentless,
but they say you may not be able to stop the evil bird from flying over your
head, but you’ll be so foolish to let it make a nest in your hair. Make sure
you protect your field before the wicked flock gets in and devastate
everything.
