So it appears that even the
effects of silliness, recklessness, idleness, aggression, deceitfulness, self
exacted anguish, etc. can all count as the ‘Will of God’ (Ndogal)? - Naah! I
don’t really think so. I believe sometimes we commit these things to God’s Will
in order to tiptoe around responsibility.
Me, I may not know further than
‘Surah Ikhlas, Falaq and Naas’, but I think we sometimes unjustifiably make a
scapegoat of the Most High’s Will. We don’t want to make a distinction between
what He DIRECTS and what He only PERMITS.
DIRECTIVE-WILL as in those
natural or physical laws governing the balance and processes of creation, and
also divine commandments; like things that He said will occur, granting answer
to acceptable prayer, meting out punishment to those who’ll fall short of his
glory, granting glory to those who’ll believe, the span of one’s natural life,
how He dispenses His unreserved Love, Mercy, Forgiveness etc.
Now let me give a picture of
PERMISSIVE-WILL… say you had an exciting date and perhaps thought you should
‘hit it’, but because y’all fervently trust that ‘You Only Live Once’ (YOLO),
young folks rely on that all the time to nourish their reckless pursuits, so
you ‘boned’ it, paying no heed to Old School’s ‘No Glove No Love’ rule – A
month later, she calls that she thinks she’s expecting, and you tensely turn to
God in prayer, hoping that a miracle will happen.
Now since it was you that did what you did in the name of “YOLO”, wouldn't it be fair if God in retort also says “YOYO” (You’re On Your
Own), now be man enough and claim responsibility? Exactly so, He only allowed
what happened because of the constriction of your free-will, and perhaps your
ignorance of the laws of cause and effect, which is no excuse… and I am not
passing any judgement here!
