People accept what they want to accept...

If things do not seem to be appearing the way you want to see them, it is only suitable that you change the way you’re looking at them. Sometimes there’s no better transformation than refusing to keep keeping hold of a certain state of mind, speculation or opinion, because it may be flawed or even groundless.

Take your social media experience for instance. Even if you’re on here for all the great reasons, some people will insensitively take that interest to mean a complete waste of time and productivity. Some will gladly look to your status updates for inspiration and enlightenment. Some will say you have an inflated view of yourself, like prima donna or drama queen, simply because of your habitual 'selfie' uploads or invariable rants. While to others, you’re nothing but a pseudo at whatever you show on here.

In the end, all these judgments are mere opinions and could be empty of truth, but even if you get down to the crusade of telling people how blameless you’re about what’s being said against you, some people will still refuse to accept your account, because they've already accepted the opposing version as the truth.

No matter the lies, people will always accept what they want to accept, that’s human nature for you. We have the ability to see whatever we want to see in any situation or thing, good or bad. Like moments ago, I had the luxury of an air-conditioned ride and I thought we should enjoy the puff of cool air, but even though it was scorching, someone in the ride said air-conditioning at that time was a waste of gas, for we were going to come down eventually. So I guess it’s a thing of the mind, ‘relativism’ if you like.

If you ask me, try to be dispassionate in the way you perceive, overstand or presume things and situations, it will take you far. Always remember that one man's favourite cuisine could be another man's allergy.

You only get one life to live...

I’m sure some of you’ll remember my bashing of those kids who fervently trust that “you only live once” (YOLO), mostly to feed their desire ...
