Sometimes the lesser you're known, the better for what you truly are, and perhaps what you do not want to be known for. Better yet, the best of what to be known for, is not to be known for what you weren't known for. I call it preservation of reputation.
But it is also a good thing that you are known for what you really want to be known for; you may call that cultivation of credibility; a kind of reputation that'll impact your ability to be believed without reservations about your intentions.
Now in case you're dying to ask how well can one be known for what he wants to be known for, even though he isn't, if he is not ready to incur any risk of being busted for what he truly is? I'll tell you, it is a good thing. That wary part of this someone is called sense of consequence. Now I know I sound like a conman, but I am just trying to have fun with words.
