"Everything
in life takes time, prayer and patience" - that's what most elders bring
to play when their kids make demands that they cannot meet; when for instance a
certain kid develops that strong impulse to travel on to greener pastures
('napseh' we call it: wanderlust in English).
Well,
faithful assurance if you ask me, but the irony is, when it comes to the things
that they want these kids to do, like securing a job, getting married, or
becoming the 'soutien de famille,' some elders don't empathise at all. In fact,
patience and timing no longer apply and I think that's unfair.
