Devilish

No people can be greener with envy than a people who can stand against the very things that they so painfully desire, but are perhaps unable to have. Such people cannot say nice things about anything that is not theirs, and in their attempt to swallow their envy or hide their insecurity and desire to be you, they’ll try to pollute your spirit by passing judgment on everything you do, say or wear.

Some of them will stalk you, trying to make friends with you or even offer their services to help you carry your load, but in truth, their only motivation is to see what’s in that load that you’re carrying. If you refuse to let them in on your affairs, they’ll start behaving like high school lowlifes, accusing you of arrogance, or thinking that you think you’re the center of the universe. Even when you speak English where English is suitable, or employ class where class matters, they’ll say you’re full of yourself.

I am sure y’all must have heard comments like: ’Defa Forgneh Defa Cute’, ’Yow Defal Ndanka, Nyun Xam Nanj La’, ‘Yow Kanj Nga Fi’, ‘Yow Ko Fi Geun’, ‘Yow Denga Ovala Yeug Sa Borpa’, ‘Ngai Nuro Kudul Dem Kama’, ‘Ken Falleh Wut Sa Allel’, ‘Amulor Lu Fi Ken Amut’ - but if you ask me, why should they be bothered if they don’t really give a heck about you or what you have, if they’re not in a way confirming that you’re everything that they say you’re not?

It is even more fucked up when men take on such bitchiness. I don’t know, I think it is on account of the fact that open hostility will kind of make their hate evident, so they try to get what they want under the guise that they’re being blunt. However, the good news is, no amount of resentment can get in the way of inevitable finesse, that’s written, just that the newer the levels you pull off, the newer the devils you’ll be drawn against, and giving in to the devil is immaturity

Humans

I have not yet read in the news about disharmony within a band of gorillas; insincerity or dishonest influence in any pride of lions; conflict within a herd of elephants, much less resulting from trivial differences, neither have I ever seen dissension in any parliament of owls; bad blood between a colony of ants; disunity within a swarm of bees, or a troop of monkeys contained by hostility.

It appears that progressively more, these creatures are doing well in getting rid of all their seeds of moral evil. The only aggressive conduct by one breed against another is usually motivated by the need for survival, safeguarding of the family unit or the expansion of territory; they don’t just hunt and kill for the heck of it.

If you’re used to watching Discovery Channel documentaries or a bit au fait with zoology, you’ll realise that these animals have this natural conduct of doing things that may appear to be individually detrimental, but they’ll still do it because it is beneficial to the survival of their relatives, or for the spread of their genes - a perfect portrayal of altruism.

The other day I saw a video of some well behaved dogs praying before eating, and I was wowed by their pace of evolution. Ironically these dogs were trained by man. Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying we’re devolving or there is no sense of altruism in humans, because not all men are impassive to the welfare of other men, but for the most part and amongst all the creatures that I know of, man is the only creature that has refused to transcend egoism, regardless of his superior intelligence.

I am on no account against the declaration of “human superiority”, but for my part, if superiority or intelligence means preaching mutualism in spite of allegiance to division, teaching the importance of “tender loving care” when you know you’re on the side of bitterness, taking honest differences of views to mean hatred, or when X’s discomfort or misfortune can develop into Y’s delight, then I'll more willingly want to remain inferior and stupid.

If I could work the world the way I wish I could, rather than just doing experiments on these animals, we'll also give trial to their altruistic lifestyle, for I believe man’s ability to think and to invent is useless if these thoughts and inventions cannot stimulate social well-being….and if you think this opinion is an unfair criticism, for the reason that ‘Allah gave man dominion over all the earth’, bear in mind that I am also a Believer, and “Allah forbid that I should be among the foolish (ignorant)”

Awkward It Is!

So awkward when someone’s unceasingly asking you about a thing that you’re almost not aware of, and the more you evade, the more he asks, until you’re eventually like wtf, are you asking me to lie so you can quote me.

I don’t know if it is out of genuine cluelessness or just someone trying to weave a web of lies, but if one thing being Rasta taught me, is to never take chances with craftsmen of destruction. It’s fucked up to be told on, or to be snared in some sting. See what snitches and informers did to Buju Banton.

Today’s civilisation is reduced to ‘every man for himself’, and if you think I’m joking, go ahead and fuckup, you’ll see how you’ll be left on your own, disturbed, and any help or act of loyalty that comes your way is only going to be a lucky thing. If you ask me, always watch your back, and think twice before volunteering word… I am not trying to promote distrust, but do it if need be….seen!

KINDNESS IS NOT A WEAKNESS

When someone gives because he believes it is necessary or expected of him to gladly do so, IT DOESN'T MEAN HE HAS IT IN EXCESS, he’s just being kind, which act of selfless devotion is so uncommon these days.

Such people can part with their very last to lend a hand to someone in dire need. They’re so concerned with the needs and wishes of others that they sometimes tend to forget about their own. They don’t think it’s reasonable to own a hefty savings, knowing that a neighbour’s languishing in need.

Do not take them for granted or for an idiot, and unfortunately that kind of thoughtless mentality is not so uncommon. I see people dubbing someone imprudent or showy simply because he prefers to help out.

Believe this or not, someone out there has more than what is enough to help someone he’ll falsely pretend to feel sorry for, but he’ll prefer to hoard his abundance, because he lacks consideration for others; he’s concerned chiefly with his own personal gains and happiness, but ironically these are the sort of people that society seem to value the most and I don’t know why...!!!

DOWN WITH PREJUDICE

Maybe if God the All-powerful and Omnipresent wanted sameness, He would've created sameness, and humankind will be of same seed, breed, creed, have the same needs, consume from the same feed, and take the same heed, you know...do everything in the same way....but what a switch off !

I am thinking He created each in his own way, with different configurations, pigmentation, tastes, beliefs, and so on, to not be out of synch or be hyphenated (Example Lebanese-Gambians, Rastafarian-Muslims, Wolof-Christians, Uncircumcised-females etc), but to manifest the beauty and strength of variety, to inculcate the spirit of love and acceptance, to limit the fatigue in uniformity and to have open hearts, open minds, doors, eyes, arms, hands, ears and so forth.

BUT if in preference to celebrating this doing, you choose to have a problem with it, I believe that’s your problem, since that thing you least want to live with is also here to live, and if I have a problem with that being your problem, then that’s my problem too, but if everyone has a problem with your problem being my problem, I guess everyone has a problem then, and perhaps why this world has grown to be so problematic.

If you ask me, and for starters, it is about time we move that the motion to renounce universal prejudice and to make this world a safe place be adopted by all.

Keep Secrets Secret!

Whether you’re someone who finds out about the failings of others to venomously discuss or gossip about them, or whether it is your occupation to bring out disgraceful stories about the personal lives of others, be aware of the fact that what you’re doing is indeed just as or perhaps more sinning than that which you’re revealing.

I saw in the Noble Book that: “Those who love (to see) scandal published (and) broadcast among the Believers will have a grievous Penalty in this life and in the Hereafter: Allah knows and ye know not”. (Quran, AL-NOOR (THE LIGHT))

[I swear to God] If it is not for the case of the pot calling the kettle black, I am sure not very many people can put themselves forward that they've never mirrored themselves in most of the things they take a dim view of.

IMO, it doesn’t matter how good, religious, clean or tidy we think or people think we are; whether under God's cover or the darkness of night, we have all committed some sin in one way or another, by deed or by mouth, by trunks or trousers; we all have our crooked paths…May Allah increase our ability to keep the secrets of others, just as how some of us have managed to keep our filthiest closets, and may He forgive all our sins.

Keep Your Head Up!

About life, if any soothsayer promises you zero complexity, get your money back and call him a fraud. The Most High never said life’s going to be easy. Nonetheless, keep doing everything you’re doing to continue to live, love, laugh and to dream, it’s worth it.

Sometimes the bumpiness of the ride is what makes the journey interesting. You know - having flat tyres here and there, busted exhaust pipes or running out of fuel, etc. Experiences of that sort will give you the handiness to improvise. If you had ridden a wobbly ride on the Karang – Dakar road you’ll know what I'm saying

It doesn't matter what ‘shit-cumstance’ it is that got you in the situation you are in right now, just take it to be a happening that is happening to serve a purpose, and with positive thinking, that “purpose” can bring about the discovery of many abilities and strength of will, or even better comfort zones..Ya Heard!

You only get one life to live...

I’m sure some of you’ll remember my bashing of those kids who fervently trust that “you only live once” (YOLO), mostly to feed their desire ...
