This
is what we talk about when we say even if there’s no “system change”, the
system is changing, and that’s because change is a process, not a destination.
What the doctors made the minister do, even Jammeh’s National Assembly
couldn’t.
I
remember when Sheriff, the Minister of Youth and Sports and team were asked to
write and apologise to the Assembly through the Speaker for their stance/press
release on the GNOC election, which they thought was a protest against the
decision of the assembly's Select Committee on Youth and Sports, therefore
contempt.
Hon.
Fabakary was like: ’let them apologise and say why further action shouldn’t be
taken against them.’ But that was before news got to Babili Mansa, Custodian of
the Sacred Constitution of the Gambia. I’m sure he was like, ‘what the heck!
How dare they ask a member of my Cabinet to deign like that? So, he also asked
the National Assembly to apologise.
